How to Calculate the Magnification Times of Microscopes?Actually magnification times are the screen size divided by the real size. Usually we use the data as below:17 inch screen ,resolution1280*1024,sensor size 1/4 inch(1/3 inch for AV ).For the moment our microscopes can see about 2mm length when maximum magnification. Resolution：2 mega pixels(1600*1200),5 mega pixels (2592*1944).Take2 mega pixels for example, screen size 1600/1280*17*25.4mm=539.75mm.Real size 2mm.So the magnification times: 539.75/2=270, we round numbers 300X.Here for simple and easy to understand, we didn’t count in sensor size, because that the result is same.2 Optical Magnification and Digital MagnificationIn digital microscopes, both optical magnification and...
